Drivechain vs Altcoins, MEV, Rollups, and Luke Dashjr | L2L Spaces | 2023-02-06

February 6, 2023Original source

Henry of LayerTwo Labs opens with favorable tweets from Checkmate of Glassnode, Ari Paul, and Joe007 and lays out the case that a miner-controlled peg would let the software of any altcoin be cloned onto Bitcoin, and that even one percent of Bitcoiners entering such a sidechain would make it larger than the coin it copies. Cullen O'Brien and SuperTestNet press him on that: altcoiners cannot port their holdings over, and existing sidechains go nearly unused, though SuperTestNet concedes privacy is the feature Bitcoiners actually ask for. Luke Dashjr joins unannounced to call the 2013 increase to one megabyte the original sin and to warn that ossifying layer one would be a reason to reject Drivechain outright. Later exchanges cover MEV and abstract protocols, validity rollups, the real cost of running a node, OP_VAULT, Lightning's limits above high fees, and Paul Sztorc's new one-click launcher.
